Ellie Bravo-Young came up as an attacker in Fairfax Station, Virginia, and left Penn State a defender with an attacker's instincts. Converted to right back as a freshman under Erica Dambach, she made 77 appearances for the Nittany Lions and won a Big Ten tournament title before Kansas City called her name 18th overall in the 2024 NWSL Draft.
She scored the day she debuted, signed a four-year extension five months into her rookie season, and helped the Current lift the 2025 NWSL Shield. When Kansas City needed a goal six minutes into stoppage time of a playoff quarterfinal, it was the right back who arrived. That is the job description: defend the channel, then show up where the game is decided.
